The Pacific Intelligence & Innovation Initiative is working with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command to accept applications for internships at Camp Smith in Fall 2025 (September – December 2025). Interns will gain real-world experience in a military command, with direct exposure to defense priorities and senior staff.
Interns will be expected to work approximately 15 hours per week. Interns must be self-starters and dependable.

Eligibility:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be eligible for an Interim Secret Clearance
- Must have transportation to work on-site at Camp Smith
- Must be a college undergraduate junior, senior, or graduate student
- Strong academic standing
- Demonstrated interest in defense and national security
Three (3) internship opportunities are with the INDOPACOM Chief Data Officer (J02D).
- Data Governance & Policy Intern (J02D-G)
Duties: Research, analyze, and draft data policies to enhance quality, security, and access.
Desired Skills: Policy research, technical writing, data governance familiarity, analytical thinking. - AI/Data Use Case Program Manager Intern (J02D-D)
Duties: Support tracking of AI/data projects, stakeholder coordination, and brief/report creation.
Desired Skills: Basic project management, stakeholder communication, data fluency, organizational skills. - Data Scientist Intern (J02D-D)
Duties: Assist with building data pipelines, analyzing structured/unstructured data, and ML model development.
Desired Skills: Python or R, statistics, ML fundamentals, data visualization, data engineering.
Three (3) internship opportunities are with the INDOPACOM J66 – Command, Control, Communications & Cyber:
- Communications Support Intern (J664)
Duties: Help desk support, user access management, device provisioning, and asset tracking.
Desired Skills: IT troubleshooting, service desk support, strong communication, organizational awareness. - Telecommunications Intern (J662)
Duties: Support classified and unclassified telecom infrastructure (VOIP, VTC, mobile systems).
Desired Skills: Networking basics, telecom interest, troubleshooting experience, mobile device support. - Network & Systems Administration Intern (J663)
Duties: Contribute to network documentation, ServiceNow ticketing, and process improvement.
Desired Skills: Network admin basics, cybersecurity hygiene, ServiceNow familiarity, accuracy in documentation.
